Technically yes — but we won’t recommend it. Paint applied over cracked or damaged stucco will fail faster, because moisture still enters through the cracks and causes paint to bubble and peel. We always repair first, which is why our exterior paints last 7–12 years instead of 2–3.
Hairline cracks are filled with flexible elastomeric caulk and feathered smooth. Larger structural cracks are cut out to stable material, the substrate is treated with bonding agent, and then rebuilt with base coat and finish coat stucco — blended to match the surrounding texture exactly.
With proper prep and quality products, 7–10 years is typical. Using an elastomeric masonry coating can push that to 10–15 years, as elastomeric expands and contracts with the surface rather than cracking. We recommend elastomeric for all stucco exteriors in Florida’s climate.
We use premium 100% acrylic exterior paints and elastomeric masonry coatings from Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore. We never use builder-grade paints — the difference in longevity and finish quality is significant, and we stand behind our work with a written warranty.
Yes — texture matching is one of our specialties. We replicate smooth, sand, dash, skip trowel, cat face, and lace finishes. For large restoration projects, we can match the original aggregate type and application method. Repaired sections are invisible in the finished paint coat.
